Roibeard mac Auleth, Kingdom Web Minister (WebMinister@calontir.info)
Roibeard
mac Auleth has been active on and off in the SCA since the founding of
the Shire of Standing Stones in 1978. Ruben du Bois, as he was known in
those days, was the head of the (un-official) household Domus Incuria, a
much reviled and/or admired group of SCAdians primarily from Standing
Stones but also including members from Forgotten Sea and Three Rivers.
He was once an authorized fighter and fought at Pennsic 8 and in several
tournaments in 1979. He got back in again, after a few years absence, in
1983 and in 1985 he received his AoA from Their Royal Majesties Shadan
and Erzebet. His participation waxed and waned until he dropped out
again in the the late 80s.
Roibeard's interest in the SCA was re-born with the founding of the Shire of Amleth Moor in 2002. Since then he has held the office of Shire Web Minister and attended several events including the last five War Colleges, Lilies 18-22, Pennsic 34 and various Crown tourneys and coronations. For awhile he used the name Robert du Bois until finally settling on Roibeard mac Auleth, paying tribute to his late friend Amleth MacAuleth, the founder of Standing Stones and the namesake of our shire.
In November 2004 lord Roibeard took the office of Pursuivant of Amleth Moor and in December 2004 he was appointed to the kingdom office of Black Horse Herald (Clerk of the Precedence) by the new Gold Falcon Principle Herald of Arms, HE Eric St. Leger. At Lilies in 2006 Roibeard was appointed the Kingdom Web Minister.
You will find Roibeard manning the grill at War College and often manning the Shire of Amleth Moor's mobile inn. Also, look for him in the Shire of Amleth Moor's encampment (below) on the Anvil of God point at Lilies War (that's his white and yellow Norman wedge in the middle). Drop by for a bottle of his mead.
